The Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic of the University of Debrecen has a long history in the fields of patient care, education and research, and is a nationally influential institution. We try to design the operation of our clinic in all areas based on uniform principles based on evidence-based medicine, because we are convinced that this is the best way to serve the safety and recovery of our patients. This is true for all three defining departments of our clinic, the Perinatology, Gynecology and Oncology Departments, each of which plays the role of a regional center and in which, as a result of the above principles, our pregnant women and patients receive the most modern care currently available in the world.
In terms of obstetric care, after the merging with Gyula Kenézy Campus, we became the institution with the largest number of births in the country. The water blocks of our maternity ward and delivery room were renewed from the tender source, as well as the purchase of a number of devices (e.g. the purchase of wireless devices for the detection of heartbeats), which serve to make labor and birth as undisturbed as possible. Thanks to the application of evidence-based protocols, the frequency of caesarean sections decreased by more than 10% over a 2-year process with unchanged neonatal outcomes. Today, this important metric is used by the country's university clinics and III. level centers at our clinic is the lowest.
In our gynecological oncology department, with many highly qualified tumor surgeons, we also perform interventions that are only available in our clinic in the country. For interventions in border areas, we work closely with the Surgery and Oncoradiology clinics. We are able to provide our patients with access to an ever-expanding range of international clinical trials, thereby making the most modern treatment options available to them.
Our Gynecology Department also performs a number of interventions (for example, minimally invasive surgical options, endometriosis surgical care, gynecological pelvic floor surgeries, and many of our regionally and nationally outstanding specialty orders), which are offered by nationally and internationally recognized specialists to offer the best recovery for the above problems. opportunity for our patients.
Our goal is that every patient who comes to us receives the same high-quality care, and we will do everything we can to achieve this. In this way, we constantly check our own work, clarify our supply schedule and give our employees the opportunity for regular further training.
As a university clinic, education and the training of the future generation of doctors are extremely important to us. In addition to graduate education, we also play a leading role in postgraduate and specialist medical training. Patient care according to the above principles is the best guarantee that we can set an example for the future generation that we believe should be followed and with which we can identify professionally.
In scientific work, we consider it our task that as many of our colleagues as possible obtain a scientific degree, which is favored by the newly established clinical structure. Our clinic considers the development of collaborative research with partner institutions and the most active participation possible in domestic and international scientific public life to be of utmost importance.
